One weekend.. I found out I was adopted!
Greg Glover and his birth mum in April 2007
Five years ago Greg Glover and his sister Carole discovered that their parents are not their real father and mother. They've even never had any reason to doubt that the couple who brought them up were their real parents.
Once his sister phoned and said that when she's been trying to get hold of her birth certificate mom was being evasive and awkward about it. Carole asked Greg to sort out getting the certificate. He did a long search an online genealogy site, but it was unsuccessful. Then his aunt offered him the better way - to ask his parents.
On weekend he picked up his sister and they drove to see parents in Essex.
When they sat in the room parents explained that Greg and Carole were both adopted from different families when they were babies and Greg's real name is Paul (that was the hardest information to accept for him).
When Grag returned home he rang to local social services, found address and phone number his real mother who's name was April. She was waiting for contact with him since his 18th birthday.

They met in a restaurant. It wasn’t an emotional meeting, it was more like seeing a relation that you hadn’t seen for a while. After that he saw when on a dinner near her house. She said that she wanted a better life for him, that's why she gave him up for an adoption. When they came back to her house Grag noticed that there was no photos except a large picture of a baby on the mantelpiece, that was the only one photo of Greg that she has.
Grag had found his birth mum, then he went on to search for his birth father. He sent a letter to everyone with the father's name in the country – letters went out with a request to get in touch regardless.
After a year Grag had found his father but after he asked Grag if he was really his son, Grag decided that he would never contact him again.
His wife, Jane, is also adopted and they have an adoptied son Bethany. They desided to keep his real name and to keep in touch with his real parents.
Grags birth mum died two years ago, which was sad and woefully, but at least he did meet her.
